If God is a computer virus then God has been building up the tension for a bad punchline for an almost unimaginable amount of time.

Only if the universe didn't actually exist until this precise moment and it's only part of the construct that we believe that it did.
I've only been worrying about this sort of thing since I was a child. Or maybe I just think I have.

I've always wondered if consciousness ends at death, or just its ability to command the body. I imagine being buried in a coffin, slowly eaten by worms and beetles, unable to move or breathe or speak, but fully conscious. I imagine being a fully conscious skeleton, or a skull piled on other skulls in a crypt.

I think you're pretty much alone there. No matter what one's belief with regards to post-death status, most people agree that upon death the body ceases to house human consciousness.
Post-death, is that a musical genre?

It's more an image that I can't get out of my head than any kind of belief.
Post-death no, post-doom yes.

I think it's time we invented some post-post- genres. Or maybe some pre- genres.

I'd like to think the tower you were talking about building would be the kind with trebuchets.

I don't remember talking about building a tower, but I'd pretty much kill to own a trebuchet. I'd lay siege to the entire neighborhood, and hopefully smash at least one cop car before going down in a flurry of bullets.
